What To Do If You Miss Your Walmart Grocery Pickup Time

Walmart’s popular Grocery Pickup service allows you to order groceries online and conveniently pick them up curbside—but things happen and you may sometimes miss your selected pickup time. Don’t worry—you have options to reschedule or get your perishable groceries.

If you’re running late for Grocery Pickup, call the store as soon as possible to let them know—most locations will hold orders for 7 days. So you can usually come later the same day to retrieve your order.

Need Reschedule Picup Time?

Need to reschedule a Walmart Grocery Pickup order? It’s easy to push back your pickup time right from the Walmart mobile app. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open the Walmart app and login to your account.
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
  3. Select “My Orders” to see your order history.
  4. Find your Grocery Pickup order and tap “Modify time & date”
  5. Pick a new available time slot from the list.
  6. Confirm the change.

That’s all it takes!

If you need to delay more than 24 hours, you can request to push back the pickup 2-3 days—but keep in mind Walmart will have to return refrigerated and frozen items after holding them for a day already. Produce, dairy, meat and other perishables can’t be held much longer.

For this reason, it’s best to pick up your order as soon as possible if delayed—contact the store to ensure they don’t put groceries back on shelves before you can get them. Most locations will work with you if they know you still intend to pick up the order.

With 7 days hold times and flexibility to reschedule, you have options if running late for your Grocery Pickup—but try to pick up ASAP, especially if your order contains cold and frozen goods. With proper communication, you can work with your Walmart store
